Layag Layag Beach / Nasugbu, Batangas

Batangas definitely comes first in mind if you are looking for the the nearest beach from Manila. All the while we thought that all the beautiful beaches in Batangas now are privately owned and are turned into resorts.

So when we planned our next beach destination, Batangas was last on our list since we prefer a public and a virgin beach. We also didnt want to go far due to the monsoon season.

But thanks to our friend who posted pictures about a trip in Nasugbu Batangas and just by looking at the pictures, we knew it was virgin. Our curiousity aroused and we asked details on how to get there.

The beach is called Layag Layag located in Barangay Papaya, Nasugbu Batangas. There are rock formations that are found in the place that resembles a sail (in Filipino, layag) hence the name Layag Layag Beach.

The place is perfect if you are into survivor type adventure. No cottages, no electricity, no restrooms, no stores, no water, no vendors, and no entrance fee! So the only option is to camp and to make sure that you have all the supplies that you need during your stay. But amazingly, the mobile signal is very strong! πŸ™‚

Getting there is easy, just ride a bus in Buendia bus terminal (DLTB Bus Co.) going to Nasugbu and drop off at Nasugbu town proper, travel time is about 3 hours. From there you will be picked up by your contact and will be riding a tricycle to reach barangay Papaya, travel time is about an hour. And from barangay Papaya you will have to ride a small boat to reach Layag Layag, travel time is about 20 minutes.

You can contact the very accomodating Omar at 09126473331 for the package price of tricycle and boat ride.

Enjoy co-viajeros! πŸ™‚

    1. Hi Rubby, for tricycle and boat which Kuya Omar provided is 1,500php that time, not sure though how much is his rate now.

All in all including fare from Manila and food more or less 3k, that is our computation for 2 adults and a child.
