Masjid Negeri Sabah / Exploring Kota Kinabalu

Masjid Negeri Sabah or Sabah State Mosque is the state mosque of whole Sabah state in Malaysian Borneo. It is situated in Kota Kinabalu the capital of Sabah.

Opened in the 70’s it can hold a capacity of about 5000 people. It has 17 domes a minaret.

This mosque is a showcase of an awesome architectural design thatΒ is a must to visit for tourists. It is just about 5 to 10 minutes drive from the city centre.

Be sure to adhere to proper dress code when visiting. Also for non-Muslims avoid visiting during Friday since it is the prayer day for Muslims.
